Birthday Parties
Birthday celebrations at Discovery Center are a piece of
cake! You bring the guests and we do the rest. We'll set-up
and clean-up your party, giving you more time to spend with
your birthday guests in our museum packed with extraordinary
hands-on and fun discoveries!
Reservations are required along with a non-refundable
deposit of 50% of the party price to be paid upon
registration. Parties may be scheduled on Saturdays and
Sundays, please call for available times. Party times fill
up quickly, so please call at least six weeks in advance of
your party date.
Some classroom and party rooms may also be
booked by the hour when not in
use.

Creative Chefs Party
Whip up
some yummy treats with your friends in the Discovery Center
Kitchen! Plus, decorate your own chef's hat to take home.
Parents/children may choose one item from the following
menus for the kids to create:
Appetizer: fruit or salad on a stick
Entrée: Pizza or Pretzels
Dessert: Cupcakes with icing or Yogurt Parfaits
Juice: Apple, White Grape, or Lemonade
This party is for up to 12 children. Includes 2 hours of staff-guided activities in the kitchen.

Animal Safari
It's an
animal adventure! Put on a safari hat and meet our animals.
Birthday child may choose up to 5 Discovery Center animals

Reptile Round Up
Meet our
cold-blooded friends and explore the wetlands as you hunt
for reptiles, amphibians, crayfish and other wetland
critters (April through September only)! Party
includes 45 minutes in the party room, plus 30 minute
activity. In case of inclement weather, an animal show will
be provided inside.

Tea Party
It’s Tea
Time at Discovery Center! Young ladies (and gentlemen) can
come dressed up in their finest! We have boas and hats to
borrow. Decorate your own tea pot placemat and let the
serving begin! Party includes 45 minutes in the party room,
plus 30 minute activity.

Princess & Pirates
Ahoy
there, Matey! Come dressed up as a pirate or a princess for
this bash! Pirate hats, eye patches, boas and tiaras will be
available to borrow. Go on a treasure hunt and dig for
buried treasure! Party includes 45 minutes in the party room,
plus 30 minute activity.

Super Science
Attention
Scientists: Grab your lab coats, it’s time to party! Try a
fun experiment with our staff. We even
have goggles/Scientist glasses to borrow. Party includes
45 minutes in the party room, plus 30 minute activity.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles
All
aboard! Calling all pilots, train engineers, and race car
drivers! Decorate and race your own take-home wooden car and
explore our upstairs trains, planes, and automobiles. Party
includes 45 minutes in the party room, plus 30 minute
activity.

Super Heroes
Look, up
in the air! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s the birthday
kid!! Put on our Super hero capes or bring your own. Create
your own super hero masks and go on a magical trip to the
shadow room to see our Heroes’ shadows stick to the wall.
But wait, that’s not all! Our Super heroes will travel at
the speed of light (well, almost) down our twisting
slide. Party includes 45 minutes in the party room, plus 30
minute activity.

Super Sleepover Party
Enjoy a Night at the Museum! The evening will begin at 8pm.
Explore the Discovery Center at night, meet the animals, and
choose one of the themed Adventure birthday parties (listed
above). After your celebration, your group will have 2 hours
to explore the museum. During months of April through
October you can take a guided night hike to explore the
nocturnal animals in the wetlands. Children must be picked
up by 8am the following day. We recommend the sleepover
party for children ages 8-12.
Discovery Center will provide plastic cups, plates, napkins,
and utensils for the 20 attending participants, two pitchers
of juice, ice and late night popcorn snack. (You will need
to bring the cake, candles, ice cream, presents for your
birthday child)
Cost: $600.00 for members and $700.00 for nonmembers
for up to 20 participants, $20.00 for any additional
participants. One adult for every 5 children is required
to supervise children throughout the night. |

Facility Rental
Your next event or meeting will be lively and creative when
playtime is part of the agenda. Rental includes two staff
members, use of the party room,
admission for all your guests, and all the things that make
the Discovery Center a special place to have a party! Rental
times are Sunday thru Saturday beginning at 5:30 pm. Special
arrangements may be made upon request.
Business Rates:
Non-profit business: $600 for 2 hours - $100 each
additional hour
For-profit business: $800
for 2 hours - $100 each additional hour
Individual Rates:
Members: $600 for 2 hours - $100 each additional hour
Non-Members: $800 for 2 hours - $100 each additional hour
Room Rentals:
Our
Wetlab Classroom, Adventure Room and Little Room are
available for rental when not in use for birthdays or
programs. Rental fee does not include any staff or admission
for guests.
Members: $50 per hour
Non-Members: $60 per hour
