TINKERTOY®: Build Your Imagination™ is an educational exhibit that combines the open-ended and inventive play qualities of the timeless TINKERTOY® construction set with GE’s innovative technologies that enrich our lives and our global community. Giant TINKERTOY® building pieces create a fantastic framework for all of the exhibit’s activities, and real TINKERTOY® construction sets take center stage in an awe-inspiring collection of TINKERTOY® pieces featured in a creative play area. A special welcome gallery and nine unique activity stations invite children and families to explore contemporary topics like renewable energy and clean water technology, to experiment with ideas and create their own inventions, and to work as collaborators in the exhibit’s hands-on environment. Each activity promotes important developmental skills and reflects the high standards of our exhibit partners.

TINKERTOY®: Build Your Imagination™ exhibit was developed by the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in collaboration with PLAYSKOOL® and GE. TINKERTOY is a trademark of Hasbro, Inc. and is used with permission. © 2011 Hasbro. All Rights Reserved.

Spend some time hanging out in the trees! Immerse yourself in an indoor tree house and explore firsthand who lives in trees through stereoscopic viewfinders, tracking clues, natural artifacts, and sound.

The lively setting will have visitors roaming from tree to tree to house as they discover the many habitats that trees provide for animals large and small—and people, too. Visitors will uncover fascinating facts about who actually lives in trees, what kinds of animal clues to look and listen for in the forest, and how people use trees for their homes. While evoking the playful spirit of childhood tree houses, this exhibition challenges visitors to play inside the tree houses. The centerpiece of the exhibition is two tree house structures built of sustainably-harvested and locally milled wood. Visitors enter via a universally accessible
ramp.

Maze Mania challenges visitors with 10 mazes of varying types and levels of difficulty. The exhibit’s most prominent maze — a 680 ft. fabric banner maze, constructed of large, neon-colored panels that hang from the ceiling — provides visitors with an immersive and positively puzzling experience.

Mazes include:
• A rope maze, which consists of three different colored ropes strung between six poles. Clip on, then climb under and over ropes to follow this maze to the end.

• An arrow tile maze, invites a solution to an intricate path puzzle facilitated by directional arrows.

• A labyrinth, much like examples found worldwide, is reconstructed in this unicursal stone maze.

• Build your own maze, in this open-ended tabletop exhibit that allows visitors to set up maze walls on a
custom-made board and construct puzzles of their own. • Visitors can also take a crack at solving the exhibit’s
geometric puzzles, meant to challenge participants to think spatially and creatively.

• Colorful wall mazes and tabletop mazes add to this exhibit’s interactive and challenging experience.
